Computer already started:
1.) Click the start button
and select run.
2.) Type "cmd" and press enter or click OK.
3.) This will open a DOS window.
4.) Now type "ping 66.207.234.1" and press enter.
5.) If DSL is working properly you will get some replies
from 66.207.234.1 If working go to section
(A).
6.) If you get a message" request time out" you will need to
find out what your IP address is.
7.) In the same DOS window type "ipconfig", should list IP
configuration for your adapters.
8.) When "IP configuration" is displayed there will be a
listing for either your internal DSL modem or Ethernet
card for external DSL modem. (Ethernet card or
Efficient Networks 3060 Speadstream)
9.) Once you have located the correct adapter
the IP address should change to a variation of
66.207.*.*.
10.) If IP address is anything other than numbers listed you
can type "ipconfig/release" and once it is released type
"ipconfig/renew". If DSL is working properly IP
address should change to a variation of
66.207.*.*.
11.) When you type "iconfig/renew" and it returns an error
of IP address of 169.*.*.* Restart the computer for
internal DSL modems or reset the external DSL
modem and the computer for external modem users.
When everything has rebooted (pc started and 4 green lights on
external modem) repeat the process above starting at step #1. If no
success after repeated attempts going through the steps above please
contact tech support listed below.
